Interview
I live in a small town in Nebraska with my Black Lab Daisey. I have lived most of my life in Nebraska, though I did live for a number of years in Colorado. I work a full time job as a cosmetologist, doing hair, and also a part time job as a clerk in a library.
2) How long have you been writing?
I have been writing since the sixth grade. I had a wonderful English teacher who made us write a ton in her class, then in eighth grade the teacher was all about stories, in that grade was when we read the classic books most schools have you read, Number the Stars, The Giver, 1984, etc... She then had students pick one story that they had written during the year then she bound them all together. That was when I really started writing and poetry is what I started with. Since then my mom has been my biggest cheerleader always asking me to write a poem for this or that, she is the best!
3) Do you have a favorite place to write?
I usually end up writing in my room in bed, or in my living room listening to music. Though I have written at a Starbucks, and a Denny’s and a couple times outside in the shade. I don’t have a particular place I write, usually whenever I can get multiple hours together by myself with Mac (my MacBook aptly named)
4) Why did you decide to write Juniper’s Princess?
There is actually a long story and a short story for this question and I am so glad you have asked! First off I’ll go with the short, I have always enjoyed writing and my one big dream was to publish a book and see it on Amazon… Long story was I had a person in my life who always told me I couldn’t do it. He was very supportive in the fact that he always said, “You can try, but you really aren’t good enough for that.” I used to listen to him, mainly he would say this in reference to writing but a few times he would branch off and let me know that no matter how hard I tried, it just wouldn’t work. I signed us both up for a 5K walk/run one time as I sponsored it with my business when we lived in Colorado, and right before we started the run, he turned to me and said, “I don’t know why you signed up for this you probably won’t even finish it, but I guess if you do, I’ll see you at the finish.” I mentally agreed since I hate to run, but guess what I finished that one and have done many more since then. (Without him) So to finish the long answer, I had a dream to write a book, and I believe that no matter what, you should always try for your dreams. You never know when they will come true!
5) Who is your favorite character in your book and why?
Actually my favorite character is Cordelia. She was the most fun to write, she is funny and sweet and can totally kick butt! I enjoyed writing Dani and Jaiden, but once Cordelia appeared I had to force myself to go back to Dani’s main story. I even played around with switching her to be the main character, but then I got distracted by other ideas and characters, and I am very pleased with the end story.
6) How about your least favorite character? What makes them less appealing to you?
My least favorite character would be Meikal. He is loosely based on the ‘very supportive in a negative way’ guy I was talking about earlier. He is just a complete jerk, and I tried to make him the least likeable and well that is why he is my least favorite.
7) Do you proofread/edit your own books or do you get someone to do that for you?
When I first started writing, I would go back and proof read/edit, but then I realized that not only was I really bad with grammar, I was incredibly bad with grammar. Seriously I knew I was pretty bad, but then I figured out I am horrible with it. I actually hired someone to edit JP, her name is Vickie and she is amazing!
8) What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
I love to read. I know cliché a bit, but I do so love it.
9) Do you read much and if so who are your favorite authors?
Yes, I do love to read…I really enjoy JR Ward, Lara Adrian, Jennifer Probst, Darynda Jones, Laurann Dohner…actually I really want to say go to my Goodreads, and there are my favorite authors, there are too many to list!
10) What question do you wish that someone would ask about your book, but nobody has? Write it out here, then answer it.
I honestly can’t think of a question someone hasn’t asked me yet. I love to talk so when I get going it is hard to stop, so I end up answering lots of questions…
Thanks for having me on your blog today, I have enjoyed this and I hope you enjoyed having me as well!

Jaiden is different, but he knows why and he knows his responsibilities. He must find the saviour of his race, the angel human half-breeds who are fighting a war for humanity's souls. If he can't convince Daniah she is more than just a little different - she is the princess of their people - they are all going to die.
Unfortunately Daniah doesn't have many reasons to trust Jadien, especially when he is caught in a web of his own lies.
In a world where half-breed angels walk among us, fighting an evil for our souls, Daniah must find the strength to become the princess we all need.

I look at him as he leans back and our eyes lock, and I feel a shiver run all through my body. I can’t seem to remember what he just said to me, I can’t think of what I am doing or where I am. How is this happening? When I look into his startling bright green eyes, my mind stops working. A picture of a woman I don’t know flashes in front of my eyes; I have definitely seen this woman before, but where? I start to feel very weary and shaky; thank goodness I’m sitting down, I think to myself. Everything else starts to fade away. All I can see is his eyes. I hear a male voice say something harshly that I can’t understand, then everything goes black.
