1) First, tell us about yourself – where you live, your family, and those sorts of details.
I’m a hard working mother of four and the eldest of four children. I was born in a small City in a Caribbean island some twenty something years ago and moved to the USA when I was four.
2) How long have you been writing?
For about two years now.
3) Do you have a favorite place to write?
Yes, my small office space next to my dining area.
4) Why did you decide to write Secrets of the Moon?
I wanted to write a werewolf story that was different and, perhaps, a little bolder in terms of how they live and interact with each other. When I envision werewolves, I think of them as dangerous creatures so I worked with this concept a bit. The rest just kind of fell into place as I began to write.
5) Who is your favorite character in your book and why?
I would say that my favorite character is Kyran. He is very difficult to get along with, but his life hasn’t been an easy one. Every day is a struggle for him, but his desire to be normal, to have at least some form of normality in his life really makes him lovable in my eyes.
6) How about your least favorite character? What makes them less appealing to you?
Angela is less appealing to me because of the way she begins to turn on her best friend out of pure jealousy.
7) Do you proofread/edit your own books or do you get someone to do that for you?
Both. I think it is better to have more than one pair of eyes looking over the MS and finding errors.
8) What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
Aside from spending time with my family, I enjoy reading, listening to music, watching a good movie, or just relaxing.
9) Do you read much and if so who are your favorite authors?
Lately, I haven’t had much time to read as often as I’d like. But some of my favorite authors are Kathleen Eagle, Amanda Ashley, Amanda Hockings, amongst others.
10) What question do you wish that someone would ask about your book, but nobody has? Write it out here, then answer it.
Did you know from the very beginning how the ending would be?
The answer is no. I probably wrote about three or four different endings but none of them sounded right. I got so frustrated that I finally stepped away from the project for about a week to brainstorm a bit. Finally, after about a week analyzing the book, I decided what course I wanted the ending to take.
